Features > EZY XML Presentation Engine > Presentation Engine Dialog > Tables

Presentation engine allows to have user-definable data types inside table cells. Software supports Date, Choicelist, File Reference as a table cell element.

For the purposes of creating a table for display in the EZY XML Editor pane, think in terms of the following construct:
Table as:

Grandparent:
Row as:

Parent:
Column as:

Child:

Possible markup would be:

<Table>

<Row_1><Col_1>value</Col_1><Col_2>value</Col_2></Row_1>

<Row_2><Col_1>value</Col_1><Col_2>value</Col_2></Row_2>

</Table>

Additionally, a table may have a dedicated Header row. The children of the Header row may have different names to body rows, but they must be the same in number. For example:

<Table>

<Header><td>Product</td><td>Product ID</td></Header>

<Row_1><Col_1>value</Col_1><Col_2>value</Col_2></Row_1>

<Row_2><Col_1>value</Col_1><Col_2>value</Col_2></Row_2>

</Table>

Once you have created a table construct, configure it for display as a Table either:

  • using the right click menu in the Document Tree, or
  • directly in the Presentation Engine dialog.

To define a Table in the Document Tree:

  1. Right click on the table element
  2. Select Display as Table
  3. Select the child element which corresponds to table row.

To define a Table in the Presentation Engine dialog:

  1. Select or Add the table element in the XML Element Names list
  2. Type the name of the child/row element in the Data From field.
  3. The Names of the children of the first row are used as default Header values. Other options may be specified in the Table Headers area of the dialog.
